Pastor John on Sunday said something in Church this Sunday. He said, "even though with technology has made man wiser and more capable, in the face of the forces of nature man is still wholly and completely powerless." I struck me how true that is, even as with technology we can predict a storm coming, we can do absolutely nothing when it comes to the havoc the storm may or may not bring.
YET EVEN THEN: There is POWER in being POWERLESS
Psalm 29:1-11
Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars...
When we hold on to God, we know He has the power. We know no matter what He has complete control, complete power, and when we feel powerless we can turn to Him for comfort, assurance, and courage. Our power is in the fact we are powerless, yet serve a POWERFUL God.
