MY FIRST MASSAGE
PUPPY LOVE
AND YET... My Father is so good to me. He has given me a heart for these strays in my neighborhood. Earning their trust, giving them cuddles and love, THIS has been a gift I could not even have imagined. Now on top of it, I have puppies to play with! Slowly, but surely they are warming up to me and will allow me to pet them (for a few seconds before they skitter away tails flinging from side to side… or before their dad gets adorably jealous and practically sits in my lap because he wants a belly rub, too! Sorry, Oliver. The cuteness code is a thing). I am so grateful.
I also, as a result of this blessing, have started a photography project I’ve titled “Stray Dogs of China”!

THOUGHTS ON TEACHING
“All your belongings can be given away, sold, or destroyed. Your friends can leave. Your family can die. People can torture you, they can hurt you, they can take you away from everything you love and are comfortable with. The world can find a hundred ways to harm you without killing you, but they can never take away the knowledge [learning/education] you have gained.”
~ Mildred Kerns
Yet, I still want my students’ to recognize WHY education is valuable. I want to be a teacher who can say, “No, I didn’t become a teacher to have summers off or make a lot of money (because that’s laughable). No, I became a teacher because I yearn to LOVE STUDENTS and show them the value of learning.” With a little knowledge one has the capacity do great things. When one recognizes the value of that knowledge, one can change the world.
