CLIMBING FUSHAN
I could write a long blog just on Kaylee and my arduous journey to the top of two out of four of Fushan’s peaks, but it would hardly be as exciting to read about it as it was to actually do. Let’s just touch on the main craziness we experienced.
The main trail? Yeah, we totally missed it. It was 100% off-roading for these two foreign girls.
[Note: Next time I go… I’m avoiding any ‘short cuts’ that lead through thorny shrubbery. My legs look like I took a weed wacker to them. FOLLOW THE GOAT TRAILS ONLY. GOATS ARE SMART.]
QINGDAO ICONS
THE OLYMPICS IN QINGDAO
WEIRD FOODS IN QINGDAO
Lastly, I tried cow throat. In my defense, my friends only told me what this was AFTER I tried it. It was really chewy and rubbery, but I suppose not unlike an under-cooked noodle.
I don’t think I’ll embrace eating any of these things again, but… now I can say I have, right? That ought to earn me some cool points somewhere.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON THIS WEEK
Thank you to all who commented or sent me an email to check in and let me know you were thinking of me! It means so much to hear from friends and family across the globe! I am unsure what adventures I will stumble across in the coming week, but I am grateful to have a beloved Father who is walking with me and encouraging me to do my best.
Blessings to you all!
